IPTV Set Top Box in Bangladesh: How to Choose an Android TV Box

What an Android TV box actually does

If your TV has an HDMI port, an Android TV box makes it a smart TV. You plug it in, connect WiFi, and you get apps, streaming, YouTube and IPTV on a TV that never shipped with any of that. It is far cheaper than replacing the television.

It also helps if your TV is already smart but slow. Older smart TVs run out of memory and stop getting app updates. A box sidesteps that entirely.

Ignore the big K numbers on the box

You will see boxes advertised as 8K, 12K, even 24K Ultra HD. Treat those as marketing. No normal TV in a Bangladeshi home displays beyond 4K, and almost no content exists above it. What matters is whether the box does clean 4K output, and more importantly, whether it has enough RAM to run smoothly.

What to check before buying

  1. RAM. 2GB is the practical minimum. 1GB boxes stutter and crash once you have a few apps installed.
  2. Storage. 8GB is enough for apps. 16GB or more if you plan to keep files on it.
  3. LAN port. If your router is near the TV, a cable beats WiFi for IPTV. Buffering drops noticeably.
  4. Voice remote. Saves a lot of typing on an on-screen keyboard, especially for searching.
  5. Android version. Newer means longer app support. Ask before buying, since listings often leave it out.

About IPTV

These boxes run standard Android, so any IPTV app from the Play Store installs normally. The box is just hardware. The IPTV service and its subscription come from whoever you buy that service from, and are separate from the device. We sell the box, not the channel subscription.

Q5 Android TV Box — 2GB RAM, 8GB storage

4K output, 2GB of RAM and a voice remote. The 2GB makes it the smoother choice for IPTV and multiple apps. See the Q5 Android TV Box.

TX20 Pro and TX60 Pro

Both are budget boxes, and the TX60 Pro adds a voice control remote. Fine for YouTube and casual streaming if you are keeping the spend low. See the TX60 Pro or the TX20 Pro.

Or skip the TV and use a projector

Several of our projectors run Android built in, so they do the same job on a wall with no TV at all. The HY320 Android Projector is the affordable entry point, the TP360 is a step up, and the Havit PJ212 at 270 ANSI is the brightest of the three, which matters in a room that is not fully dark.

Common questions

Will it work on an old non-smart TV?

Yes, as long as there is an HDMI port. That is the only requirement.

How fast does my internet need to be?

Around 5 Mbps for HD and 20 Mbps or more for 4K. For IPTV, connection stability matters more than raw speed.

Can I install any app?

Yes, it runs Android, so the Play Store works as it does on a phone.

Does it come with channels?

No. The box is hardware only. Any IPTV subscription is arranged separately.

Box or projector?

If you already have a TV, buy the box. If you want a big picture and do not own a large TV, an Android projector is better value.
